Development partners Socius and Barings will start works on the Soapworks site this September.

Soapworks will deliver new spaces to live, work and socialise with local benefits, such as opportunities for employment, skills and investment in the community. The new development includes the construction of two new buildings, alongside the restoration of the Grade 2 listed former Gardiner Haskins warehouse, celebrating the site’s industrial heritage. The redevelopment of the site received planning permission from Bristol City Council in April 2021.

Soapworks will include:

  • Some of the most sustainable homes and workspace in Bristol
  • New spaces for diverse local independent food, drink, leisure and retail
  • A new public square for all to enjoy
  • 243 build-to-rent apartments (49 of which will be affordable)

The Soapworks team will continue to keep the local community updated throughout key milestones of the construction process.

In the meantime, for more information please get in touch with the Soapworks team.
