JOIN THE BRISTOL BID BOARD

Following the success of the Bristol BID ballot, we are seeking to recruit a new Advisory Board and Chairperson. In addition, we are also looking to form and recruit members for new working groups to support each of our BID delivery themes.

In July 2025, eligible Bristol businesses voted ‘yes’ to uniting and expanding the three existing Bristol city centre Business Improvement Districts to form Bristol BID. Through impactful projects, Bristol BID will continue to invest across four core delivery themes that will offer support to enable businesses to thrive. The BID is committed to delivering existing services and expanding these into new areas, while also bringing additionally to the programme of work, and investing the levy funds of up to £18m over five years into the BID area.

THE BID WILL DELIVER ACTIVITY ACROSS FOUR STRATEGIC THEMES:

Experiences & Promotion – Deliver, initiate, and support events, activations, PR, and marketing to promote our city and its businesses.

Safe & Supported communities – Deliver projects to increase safety, improve knowledge and digital connectivity, promote wellbeing and support growth and community connectivity.

Clean & Welcoming – Create well maintained spaces with dedicated resources to deliver additional cleansing and improve the city’s welcome.

Sustainable & Green – Support businesses towards a sustainable future by connecting our community with accessible green initiatives.

ABOUT THE BOARD

The Advisory Board exists to ensure that the BID operates as part of a wider community and in the public interest. The Advisory Board represents the interests of all levy payers and advocates for them on strategic issues.

The Bristol BID Advisory Board will oversee and monitor the delivery of the Bristol BID Business Plan 2025-2030 and ensure the existing Business Plan commitments of Bristol City Centre BID and Broadmead BID are maintained until the end of their terms in 2027 and 2028 respectively.

The BID Advisory Board will meet quarterly and have delegated responsibility from Visit West for the governance and financial arrangements of the Bristol BID.

ABOUT THE WORKING GROUPS

The Bristol BID working groups will be formed to support the BID delivery team to develop project proposals and identify opportunities for future projects across four strategic themes. Each working group will offer expert advice and sector insights to both the BID team and the BID Advisory Board and will usually be chaired by an Advisory Board representative.

The BID working groups will be recruited from across different business sectors and cover the geographic area of the BID boundary.

The BID working groups will meet at least quarterly either in person or online and be chaired by an Advisory Board representative.

Who we're looking for

We are seeking a diverse range of business representatives from our levy-paying business community to join the inaugural Bristol BID Advisory Board and working groups.

We welcome applications from individuals across different sectors, seniorities, genders, ethnic backgrounds, and lived experiences who can help guide and champion our BID themes.

Existing Advisory Board members are encouraged to apply to help retain valuable skills and experience. When reviewing applications, we will consider a balanced mix of sectors and geographic areas to ensure the Advisory Board is both diverse and representative. The Community representative role will rotate across the BID’s geographic areas during the five-year term, with each representative serving up to one full BID year before a new community member is recruited.

HOW TO APPLY

Please submit your expression of interest for the inaugural Bristol BID Advisory Board, Chairperson, or working groups by Tuesday 30 September 2025 to steve@redcliffeandtemplebid.co.uk.
