BBC Introducing talent to headline Bristol’s Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Fan Zone

Full line-up revealed for two weekends of free sport, music, art and community celebration on Bristol’s Harbourside

10/09/2025

Bristol’s Harbourside is set to come alive across two action-packed weekends this September, as the full line-up is revealed for the official Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 Fan Zone. Running Saturday 13 – Sunday 14 September and Friday 19 – Saturday 20 September, the free-to-enter Fan Zone at Canon’s Marsh Amphitheatre will host live match screenings, headline music performances, circus, dance, public art and family-friendly activities – all timed to coincide with four knockout stage matches at Ashton Gate Stadium.

A major highlight of the programme is the appearance of BBC Introducing artist Hunny Buzz, who will headline the main stage on the Friday of the second weekend, bringing national attention to Bristol’s celebration of women’s rugby.

They’ll be joined by standout talent and emerging grassroots performers from Creative Youth Network, including Frankie Masarik, Hannah Wood, Nathan Solle, and Destiny, supported by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority-led Culture West programme. The stage will also feature high-energy performances and interactive dance workshops from AE Dance.

The first weekend (13 – 14 September) will set the tone with live screenings of the tournament’s quarter-finals, enhanced by circus performances programmed by Circus City during halftime breaks. The second weekend (19 – 20 September) builds on that energy with an expanded cultural line-up and more live music, creating a true festival atmosphere on the waterfront.

Helen Godwin, the Mayor of the West of England, said:

“Hosting the Women’s Rugby World Cup is a landmark moment for Bristol and the West – and our Fan Zone ensures that everyone can be part of it. This is not only a celebration of world-class sport, but also a showcase of our region’s incredible creativity, culture and community. From emerging artists to inspiring athletes, including from Bristol Bears, this is a chance for people from across the West to come together, with visitors from across the UK and beyond.”

Beyond the stage, the Fan Zone offers immersive, family-friendly activities and visual spectacle, including giant interactive sculptures by Bristol-based robotics studio Air Giants, roaming circus performers and hands-on creative workshops. A striking new mural by Bristol artist Melo will also be painted live at the Fan Zone on Sunday 14 September, covering the hoardings of Canon House with a design celebrating women, sport and the spirit of Bristol.

The food and drink offering will be curated by Buoy Events, spotlighting Bristol’s vibrant street-food scene and female-led businesses, alongside a central bar. Accessibility and ease of travel are prioritised, with special ferry services linking Temple Meads, the Amphitheatre, and Underfall Yard near Ashton Gate, plus a clearly signed walking route that takes in key city landmarks.

Hosting duties across the two weekends will be led by former England international Amber Reed and Welsh rising star Jenna De Vera, who will bring their energy and insights to the main stage while keeping the crowd engaged between matches and performances.

Delivered in partnership with Visit West, Bristol City Centre Business Improvement District (BID), Bristol City Council, the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority, Redcliffe & Temple BID and a wide range of local organisations, the Fan Zone reflects Bristol’s commitment to inclusion, creativity and cultural celebration.

Sabrina Shutter, Project Events Manager at Bristol City Centre BID, added:

“The Fan Zone is about more than rugby. It’s a platform for artists, businesses and performers to shine, while drawing thousands of people into the city centre. With its mix of free entertainment, local food and international sport, this is a powerful moment for Bristol - culturally and economically.”
