Arriva’s Chiltern train operating company has launched into passenger service the first ever 100mph HybridFlex train on the UK national rail network. The diesel train is fitted with a battery pack to reduce emissions and noise when approaching or leaving the station. This innovation is the result of a four-year partnership between Chiltern Railways, Porterbrook and Rolls-Royce.
