Free and open for everyone to enjoy

To help workers in the city make the most of summer in Bristol, Redcliffe & Temple BID in partnership with City Dressing, have created a new outdoor area in Temple Quay for the everyone to enjoy over the summer months.

First launched in 2023, ‘Summer on the Quay’ returned in 2024 and is back again for 2025.  Featuring furniture and seating surrounded by plants, the calm, beautiful setting on Glass Wharf is the perfect spot for a catch up with colleagues, enjoying lunch in the sunshine, or meeting up with friends after work.

Sweet Mondays

Back for 2025, we’re encouraging local workers and residents to join us on Monday lunchtimes this summer to enjoy free sweet treats from local bakeries and cafes whilst enjoying our outside seating area. In previous years, we’ve teamed up with Harts Bakery, Small Goods, Double Puc and Mokoko to offer free baked goods from pop-ups on Glass Wharf.

Keep your eyes peeled for our 2025 dates coming soon!

PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES

2023 Flower Charity Benches

In 2023, we added four beautifully decorated flower benches in Temple Back East and Rivergate. Each bench was decorated based on a Bristol / South West charity to help create awareness and raise money for charities including TAP for Bristol, Grassroot Communities, Avon Wildlife Trust and Changes Bristol.

The benches provided an additional place to sit and take a break as well as a casual meeting space, and their stunning appearance made the perfect backdrop for a selfie. Across the full installation, all materials used were either recycled or upcycled to support Redcliffe & Temple BID’s sustainable approach in the city and reduce carbon footprint.

Outdoor Games

In 2023 and 2024, we sectioned off an area on Glass Wharf to feature a series of outdoor games. These included shuffleboard, quoits, ladder golf, corn hole, and pickleball.

Office workers from Temple Quay businesses and nearby areas were able to enjoy the outdoor area and free games during their lunch break, or as an alternate meeting space to soak up the sunshine.
