On Tuesday 21 March, we brought together professionals from more than 30 businesses for the launch of our collaboration with Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership , which aims to make Redcliffe and Temple the heart of their Climate Action Programme. The programme offers free practical support for organisations to accelerate climate action, no matter their starting point.

After lunch and networking, our Project Manager, Tom Swithinbank, kicked off the event with a look into the BID’s Sustainability Action Plan, which sets out how we will support businesses in the area to operate more sustainably, and how we are working with local stakeholders to mitigate against climate risks, including flooding and extreme heat.

Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership’s Engagement Officer, Bex Shreeve, then gave a passionate overview of the range of free practical support on offer through our Climate Action Programme, encouraging businesses to connect with her, so that the team can tailor the programme of support to meet the needs of businesses in Redcliffe and Temple.

Giving members of the Redcliffe & Temple BID business community the opportunity to learn from one another and share best practice, is a key objective for our partnership with Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership, and we were delighted to have one of the Climate Leaders Group members, Kirsty Green-Mann, join us a guest speaker.

Kirsty shared valuable insights into how Burges Salmon has made significant progress towards achieving their 2026 net zero target and presented her five-step approach to achieving your business’ climate ambitions.

Following great participation in the Q&A and a networking session, we left feeling inspired and excited to be working with businesses in this area of the city. There is clearly a strong appetite to drive climate action forward and we are now even more confident that our collaboration with Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership will deliver the support businesses need to accelerate climate action.

If you were unable to attend and would like to find out more about the programme of support available in Redcliffe and Temple or share details of your climate journey, please get in touch with Bex.

Thank you to everyone who attended, our host, Burges Salmon, our partner Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership, and guest speaker, Kirsty Green-Mann.
